Arrived Edinburgh

July 31
Edinburgh
We are docked immediately adjacent to the retired royal ship HMS Britannia (which we toured back in May).

Our last day of golf was at Gleneagles--the Kings course. On the way there, we drove past sights from our walk across Scotland--the three bridges at South Queensferry and the Kelpies sculptures.

The symbol of Scotland.

A great trip. We are planning on doing another Perry Golf adventure in the future.

Castle Stewart

July 29, Invergordon
A city of murals.

Then we golfed at the lovely Castle Stewart course.

It was a competition day, and I won closest to the pin for my drive on a par 3. My prize was a club cover--a Scottish Highland cow.....

Scottish Weather and Pot Bunkers

Golfed at Prestwick Golf Club today near Glasgow, site of the first British Open in 1861. Old Tom Morris was the Keeper of the Green here. But the weather and the course were challenging, particularly the pot bunkers. Thank goodness for water proof clothing.

Portrush

Played a round at Portrush near Belfast, site of the Open for 2019. Another links course on a beautiful day. And the cutest caddies.

And guess who teed off just after we finished---Payton Manning. He was eating lunch no more than 10 feet from us.

Playing like a Pro

Monday, July 24
We played at Portmarnock Golf Club today-a true links course. 112 pot bunkers, about six of which I visited. And we played with a caddie, a new experience. And helpful, tho I don't know if it helped my score.
